Day 1 Fly from US to San Jose, Costa Rica. Pick up at airport by our local representative and transfer to your hotel. Overnight in San Jose.

Day 2 Breakfast in the hotel. Drive for one hour, passing through Cartago, the former capital of Costa Rica and continue on to Tres Equis, where you will switch to a 4x4 shuttle to take you down to the put in. Full day rafting on the Pacuare River (Class III-IV), with a picnic lunch on the riverbank. This river packs thrilling rafting with beautiful jungle scenery and wildlife. Afternoon take out at Siquirres and drive back to San Jose via Braulio Carrillo National Park. Overnight in San Jose. [Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner]

Day 3 Early morning transfer to airstrip to board your flight to Palmar Sur, then continue by road (25 minutes) to the Sierpe River. Depending on the tide and weather conditions, it is approximately a 1 hour trip down the Sierpe River, through the river mouth into the Pacific Ocean, and an additional 1/2 hour to our lodging. Dinner and overnight at Corcovado National Park. [Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner]

Day 4 Boat trip to Corcovado National Park, where you will spend the whole day hiking the nature trails and relaxing on the beach. The Osa Peninsula is one of the least accessible areas of the country and, consequently, is virtually untouched. Corcovado protects 42,000 hectares of Pacific lowland rainforest. After exploring some of the beach and forest trails with your naturalist guide, there will be a picnic on the beach. Dinner and overnight at Corcovado National Park. [Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner]

Day 5 Half day tour to Marenco Biological Reserve. Afternoon free to enjoy the surrounding area by hiking, swimming, sunning, etc. Dinner and overnight at Corcovado National Park. [Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner]

Day 6 After breakfast, transfer to Sierpe via boat and then land transfer to Palmar airstrip to board your flight back to San Jose. Upon arrival, your guide/driver will transfer you to Monteverde area. Overnight in Monteverde. [Breakfast]

Day 7 Morning visit to Monteverde Cloud Forest Reserve with local guide. Well developed trails at Monteverde access some of the most beautiful cloud forest in the world. Overnight in Monteverde. [Breakfast]

Day 8 Morning visit to Butterfly Garden, a small 'farm' focusing on education and research. The Butterfly Garden recreates the world of the butterfly, where each species depends on a different type of plant for survival. Afternoon departure for San Jose. Overnight in San Jose. [Breakfast]

Day 9 Breakfast in hotel. Transfer to the airport for your departure. [Breakfast]
