Idaho Hell's Canyon 3 Days From $728.00
The Snake River marks the
base
of a seemingly bottomless gorge called Hells Canyon. A 7000-foot deep
abyss that stands as one of Nature's grandest achievements and an
obvious boundary of where Idaho 'ends' and Oregon 'begins.'
This 80 mile trip offers BIG WATER...and that means plenty of
full-grown, roller-coaster rapids. The landscape is breathtaking; in
fact, its beauty prompted Congress to add Hells Canyon to the
National
Wild and Scenic River System in 1976. The Snake's warm, clear water is
excellent for swimming, and after lunch on day two you can get a closer
look from an inflatable kayak (available if requested in advance).
Three
days will take you through the upper portion of the canyon and the two
largest rapids: Granite Creek and Wild Sheep. If you have the time,
five
days will leave the fabled Hells Canyon, in its entirety, forever
etched
in your mind.
Includes: Ground transportation to trip from Boise, ID; meals; rafting; scenic flight from trip to Boise, ID. Camping gear available for rental. Dates: May, June, July, August, September Difficulty: Strenuous |
